Kessler led the sustainable design and LEED consulting team, providing energy design assistance, renewable energy recommendations and the lighting design for this facility.  This building renovation is about 24% more efficient than required by the new Chicago Energy Code and includes a 100 kW photovoltaic (solar electricity) system.  The project achieved LEED Silver Certification and will be used as a demonstration for designing and building future sustainable county buildings.

Kessler trained Cook County personnel and three of the architectural design teams with respect to LEED and sustainable design.
