Kessler designed the lighting system for this LEED Platinum facility. The state-of-the-art lighting system makes extensive use of daylight and lighting controls while providing a high-quality environment for both office and manufacturing functions. This project is a direct result of a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Chicago and the AIA Chicago COTE. It is one of the first projects designated by the U.S. Department of Energy as an example of a conversion from a “Brownfield to Brightfield.” The facility attracts over 6,000 visitors per year who come to learn about sustainable design.
This project was designated as one of the national AIA COTE Top Ten for 2003 and received a LEED® Platinum rating.
